Helicobacter Pylori
Helicobacter Pylori is a common bacterial cause of indigestion type symptoms. You could be suffering or have been suffering for years with your stomach and been taking indigestion tablets or liquids with little real long term effect. The likelihood is that you may have Helicobacter. We can make the diagnosis by a simple stool test, which you do in the privacy of your own home.
You will come in and have a 30-minute consultation with a doctor. The fee for this is £127.60. We will give you the stool pot and you then send us the stool sample in a special pre-paid and pre-labeled envelope that you will have been provided at your consultation. The cost of the Helicobacter Stool Test is £104.50.
You then return the sample and we can have your test done for you. We will contact you with the results, normally within 48 hours. If the test is positive, we'll issue you a private prescription of Heliclear which is a combination of antibiotics that eradicate Helicobacter. The course normally lasts for 3 months. The cost for the private prescription is £31.90.
The 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to the Australian researchers Dr Barry Marshall and Dr Robin Warren for their discovery of Helicobacter pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. H pylori causes more than 90 per cent of duodenal ulcers.
